Bengaluru: Private bus operators warned not to collect excess fare

Bengaluru: State Transport Minister B. Sriramulu has warned private bus operators against collecting excess fares ahead of the Gowri-Ganesha festival.

Speaking to mediapersons he said, “I have noticed that some private bus operators have been taking in excess fares. I have instructed operators that they should collect fares as prescribed by the Transport Department. action will be taken against those bus owners who are collecting excess fare,” he said.

Private bus operators were urged by the Minister not to exploit passengers. He warned that anyone who takes advantage customers should be ready to face action. KSRTC recently announced that 500 extra buses would be operating ahead of the festivities.
