Bengaluru: Congress staged a demonstration in front of the Vidhana Soudha here on Thursday July 7. The workers demanded a judicial inquiry into the PSI recruitment scam alleging that such large scale scam cannot happen without the consent of the State Government.
Amid rains, Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar and senior Congress leaders took out a protest.
Speaking to mediapersons, Siddaramaiah said, “Huge scam has taken place in hiring police sub-inspectors, which is an injustice done to sincere candidates. While the Government wanted to recruit 545 sub-inspectors, the accused collected money from more than 300 candidates to alter their OMR sheets and rig the results, he alleged.
Siddu charged, “The illegal work was carried out at the office of ADGP Amrit Paul, who headed the Police Recruitment Division. This tampering of OMR sheets could not have happened without the backing of Ministers and the State Government.”
