Bengaluru Residents Urge Capture Of Leopard After Viral Sighting Video

Residents of Hunasamaranahalli, Bengaluru, are calling on Yelahanka forest officials to capture a leopard allegedly seen roaming nearby. A video shared on social media, reportedly taken by workers at the Yelahanka airbase, shows what appears to be a leopard. This recent sighting follows another just days earlier, sparking fear among locals.

“The leopard appears on and off, with the latest sighting last Sunday,” said Sebastian, a local resident. “Workers managed to record it, and we’ve notified the Yelahanka forest team. Their presence is especially concerning for children and women.”

Yelahanka range forest officer N. Pushpalatha confirmed receiving complaints of leopard sightings near the Yelahanka Rail Wheel Factory. “We inspected the area on Wednesday but found no pug marks. While the video does depict leopard movement, its recording date remains uncertain,” she stated. To ensure safety, officials plan to install a cage if further signs are found and have ramped up night patrols.

The authorities’ swift response aims to address rising concerns and safeguard the community.
