BENGALURU: Two people, including a Class 10 student, died in separate road accidents in Bengaluru on Sunday evening and early Monday morning, October 19. The incidents occurred in Yelahanka and Devanahalli traffic police limits, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding both crashes.

The student, identified as Hemanth, a resident of Vidyaranyapura, died after a car allegedly travelling recklessly on a one-way road collided with the motorcycle on which he was riding pillion. In the second incident, a 34-year-old man working at a sewage treatment plant was killed after a speeding car hit him in Devanahalli.

Class 10 student dies after motorcycle collision

The first accident occurred around 7.20 pm on Sunday near JK Basavanna Circle, on the road towards New BDA Layout in Shyamarajapura, within Yelahanka traffic police limits.

Hemanth was travelling on a motorcycle with his 17-year-old friend, Vamshi, who was riding the vehicle. According to preliminary reports, a car allegedly driven at high speed entered a one-way road from the Byaladakere side and struck the motorcycle.

The impact left both teenagers seriously injured. Hemanth suffered severe head injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment, where he later died.

Vamshi also sustained serious injuries and was undergoing treatment, according to the report.

The accident has raised concerns over reckless driving and violations of one-way traffic rules. Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision, including the car’s movement on the road and the events leading up to the crash.

Sewage treatment plant worker killed in Devanahalli

In a separate incident, Pappu Kisku, 34, died after a speeding car hit him within Devanahalli traffic police limits around 12.30 am on Monday.

Kisku was originally from Assam and lived at T Hosahalli in Devanahalli taluk. He worked as an operator at a sewage treatment plant.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are being examined by the police. Further details about the vehicle involved and the events immediately before the accident were not provided in the initial report.

Police investigate both accidents

The two fatal crashes occurred within a few hours of each other, claiming the lives of a student and a working man. Police are investigating the incidents separately to establish the sequence of events and determine responsibility.

The Yelahanka accident involved an alleged one-way traffic violation and a collision between a car and a motorcycle, while the Devanahalli case involved a car hitting a pedestrian, according to the report.

The incidents once again highlight the serious consequences of dangerous driving on city roads and highways. The investigations will establish the precise circumstances of each crash and whether any traffic violations or negligence contributed to the deaths.
