Bengaluru Rural Police have initiated two separate FIRs following a viral video showing a mob throwing scooters off a flyover. The incident occurred on August 15 at around 10:45 am near Adakamaranahalli on NH 48.

  • Incident: A group of 10-15 people intervened after two motorists performed wheelies on the flyover. The group stopped the motorcyclists and threw their scooters off the bridge.
  • Response: The motorists fled the scene, and the video of the incident prompted police action. The scooters involved have been seized.
  • Charges:
    • Against Motorists: FIR under sections 187, 189, 184 of the Indian Motor Vehicle Act and Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for reckless driving.
    • Against Mob: FIR under Section 190 of BNS for unlawful assembly and associated offenses.

Superintendent of Police C K Baba stated that police are still identifying those involved and that no arrests have been made yet. The Nelamangala Town Traffic Police and Madanayakanahalli Police are handling the respective cases.
