Bengaluru Rural: Deputy Commissioner (DC) R. Latha said that Kannada history showcases the heritage of literature and culture along with the enrichment of Kannada language.
Speaking after paying floral tributes to Bhuvaneshwari’s portrait and hoisting the national flag at the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations organised by the District Administration in front of the District Administration Bhavana at Beerasandra Village in the taluk, she said that one should interact with people of other languages in Kannada. Kannada should be taught to people coming from other states, she noted.
“Nowadays, the Kannada language is shrinking due to the craze for English. The great men who fought for the unification of Kannada should be remembered. Everyone should commit to preserving and promoting Kannada language. The Kannada language has a glorious history of its own. Our literature is richer than all other languages,” she said.
