Bengaluru Rural: The State Government has issued an official order to re-implement the successful scheme, which was very popular in the Co-operative Sector in the State and the registration process for the Yashaswini card will begin from Tuesday November 1.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had announced in the Budget that the State Government would restart the Yashaswini scheme. The successful scheme implemented by the Co-operative Department in 2003 was in existence in the State till 2017-18. Later, the Government stopped the project. However, in the wake of the growing demand in the Co-operative Sector, especially in the farmers’ sector, for the re-launch of the successful scheme in the State, the Government has now decided to implement the successful scheme to provide health care to the members of the Co-operative Sector.

The Scheme will be applicable to the members of District Central Bank, Primary Agricultural Credit Co-operative Society and Rural Self-help Groups. In rural areas, the contribution fee is Rs. 500 as applicable to 4 members of 1 family. In urban areas Rs. 1000 is fixed. The contribution fee has to be paid as Yashaswini registration.

An additional charge of 20 per cent will have to be paid on the contribution for more than four members to avail the facility successfully. The Government has promised to bear the annual contribution to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Notably, the Government has extended this facility to Co-operative Fishermen, Co-operative Beedi Workers and Co-operative Weavers. Under the Yashaswini Scheme, Unique ID cards will be issued to the members. If you go to any hospital where Yashaswini network is located and get admitted for treatment and show the card, the complete details of the applicant as well as their dependent family members will be available.

Yashaswini card has been used to allow cashless treatment in hospitals. It is envisaged under a successful scheme to get treatment for diseases. Treatment is allowed only in the general ward and can be treated within 15 days of receiving the Yashaswini Card.
