Bengaluru: Seasoned criminal training youth inside jail on stealing held

Bengaluru: A thief, who along with his wife had stolen a house and shot in two legs by the Police, was allegedly training two youth in robbery in jail and making them steal shops and houses.

A jewellery and cloth shop lock were broken and lakhs of rupees were looted. J. J. Nagar Police has arrested three persons for stealing valuables. The arrested have been identified as Rakshith (21), Siddaraju (20) of Tumakuru and Achyutakumar alias Vishwanath Koliwada (35), a resident of Konanakunte.

A total of Rs. 1.80 lakh was recovered from the accused. A gold chain weighing 30 grams, two watches and clothes were seized. On May 20, the accused broke the lock of a cloth shop owned by one Abdul Rehman in Ranganatha Colony and decamped with 70 pants, 150 shirts and Rs. 26,000 in cash. They have stolen the cash and fled. A case has been registered in this regard and the accused have been arrested, police said.

A case has been registered at J.J. Nagar Police Station.

Achyut Kumar alias Vishwanath Koliwada, along with his wife, used to break into houses and committed a theft in a house. A few months ago, the Jnanabharathi Police shot the accused in both legs and sent him to jail. He was later arrested by the Bagalgunte Police in a similar act and was jailed. Meanwhile, Rakshit and Siddaraju were jailed in connection with a theft case by Halasurugate Police.

Achyut Kumar introduced himself to the youth in the jail and used to train them on theft in the jail itself. Moreover, he used to get them bail and release the youth and commit the theft. He used to break the locks of houses and shops in places where there were no CCTV cameras and where not many people were moving.
