Bengaluru: Six arrested for stealing bike for wheeling

Bengaluru: The Kodigehalli Police has arrested a man for stealing bikes parked in front of houses along with minors for wheeling.

The arrested has been identified as Sharath Kantharaj Kumar (22), a resident of Vidyaranyapura. Five persons have been taken into custody. Rs 8.5 Lakh was recovered from the accused. As many as 17 two-wheelers were seized.

Sharath, who is addicted to wheeling, had formed a group of five minors. He used to break the handle lock of two-wheelers parked in front of the house and steal it. He had stolen two-wheelers from Kodigehalli, Magadi Road, Basaveshwaranagar, Chamarajpet, Vidyaranyapura and other places.

Sharath, who was on a two-wheeler, tried to escape when he saw the police on a two-wheeler during a nakabandi late night on April 30. Suspecting this, the police followed him and caught hold of him and the theft came to light.
