Bengaluru: After 13 days in the hospital, Bangalore University (BU) student, who was run over by a state-run bus at the Varsity’s Jnana Bharati campus died of her injuries on Sunday October 23.
Shilpa Shree (23), a post-graduate student of mathematics and hailed from Bangarapete in Kolar District, was staying at the Varsity’s hostel.
She was trying to board a BMTC bus on October 10 when the unfortunate incident occurred. Admitted to a private hospital on Bannerghatta Road, she died on Sunday. From October 10, at least five other accidents have been reported at the campus. After the student protest, Varsity has assured appropriate action with regard to controlling vehicle movement in the campus.
