Bengaluru Techie’s Tragic Suicide Sparks Debate on Marital Harassment

The shocking death of 34-year-old Atul Subhash, a Bengaluru-based techie originally from Uttar Pradesh, has triggered widespread reactions, including comments from Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. Subhash, whose body was found hanging in his Manjunath Layout residence, left behind an 80-minute video and a 24-page death note accusing his wife, her family, and a judge in Uttar Pradesh of harassment.

In his video, Subhash expressed despair over financial exploitation, stating, “The money I earn is strengthening my enemies… This cycle will continue unless I end my life.” He also instructed his family to scatter his ashes near a court gutter if his alleged harassers were not brought to justice. A placard reading “Justice is due” was found in his room.

Kangana Ranaut called the incident “heartbreaking” and condemned fake feminism and extortion but controversially stated that “99% of marriage issues are caused by men.” Her remarks have fueled intense online debate.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against Subhash’s wife and her family. A senior officer confirmed that the allegations are being investigated, though no arrests have been made yet.

The techie’s family is demanding accountability and justice, while the accused party claims innocence and promises to present evidence in their defense. This tragic case has reignited discussions about marital discord, mental health, and systemic failures in addressing personal grievances.
