Bengaluru: As many as 21 persons have been arrested by Anekal police after they allegedly barged into the campus of Alliance University in Kasaba Hobali and threatened the Registrar with a gun and other lethal weapons.

A case has been filed against the former Alliance University President Madhukar Angur, Swarnalatha, and their associates under several provisions, including the Indian Arms Act, 1959 (U/s-25), as a result of a complaint made by the Registrar, Nivedita Mishra. Actress Sreeleela’s mother, Swarnalatha, is the main accused. The report noted that Swarnalatha is currently absconding.

According to a senior police officer, Nivedita claimed in her complaint that on September 10 at around 11.00 am, Swarnalatha and Angur, together with other people, stormed the campus and ordered the students and security officers to leave.

The two then went inside Nivedita’s room and made a gun flash. They asserted ownership of the property. The two were accompanied by some bouncers, who made a scene before they left campus. According to the police, a team has been formed to find Swarnalatha. The other arrested accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
