Bengaluru: A resident of the city has sparked widespread discussion online after sharing a video that highlights the daily traffic struggles faced by commuters in India’s technology capital. The video, posted on social media by Pankaj Huria, shows him stuck in heavy traffic while travelling to work, demonstrating how even short distances in the city can take an unexpectedly long time to cover.
The clip quickly gained attention on social media platforms, where users resonated with the commuter’s frustration and shared similar experiences of navigating Bengaluru’s increasingly congested roads.
Video shows slow commute despite short distance
In the video shared on Instagram, Huria explains that he left his house at around 9.15 am to travel to his office, which is located only 6.5 kilometres away. Despite the relatively short distance, he found himself stuck in traffic shortly after beginning his journey.
Filming from inside his car, Huria shows that after more than half an hour on the road, his vehicle had barely progressed through the congested stretch.
To illustrate the situation further, he pans the camera to his car’s infotainment system displaying navigation details from Google Maps. The screen indicates that he still had approximately 4.4 kilometres left to travel.
According to the estimated arrival time shown on the navigation system, he was expected to reach his destination at around 10.16 am, meaning the short commute could take more than an hour to complete.
Expressing his frustration in the video, Huria remarks that such travel delays have become a routine part of daily life in Bengaluru.
