Bengaluru: Justice Ramachandra Dattatreya Huddar and Justice Venkatesh Naik Thavarya Naik took their oath as new additional judges of the High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday January 24. Governor Thawarchand Gehlot administered the oath of office to the new judges.
Justice Huddar was born in Belagavi and began his in 1995. He had worked as a special judge for cases involving elected officials, among other positions, all over the State. Justice Huddar was serving as Bengaluru’s Principal City Civil and Sessions Judge before his elevation.
Justice Venkatesh Naik, a native of Madakaripura in the Chitradurga district, joined the judicial service in 2012. He had previously held the positions of Registrar (administration) at the High Court of Karnataka and District and Sessions Judge in Udupi. Justice Naik had served as Principal District and Sessions Judge in Bengaluru Rural.
