Bengaluru: The body of two people who drowned while immersing a Durga idol during Dasara celebrations in RR Nagar, West Bengaluru, on Wednesday October 5 was recovered from Kengeri lake.
According to sources, Ram Ratan from Maharashtra, had organised a Durga puja at his home. He and five members of his family went to Sunkalpalya Lake on Uttarahalli Main Road on Wednesday to immerse the idol.
Somesh (21) and Jitu (22), two of his family members, drowned in the lake as a result, but others managed to escape.
Police and emergency services personnel launched a search operation to retrieve the bodies and their bodies found at Kengeri lake.
