Bengaluru: Two persons have been detained by the City police for allegedly indulging in an inter-state drug racket. A quintal of ganja worth Rs. 30 lakh was seized.
The arrested accused have been identified as Babu (40), a resident of Nandipulam and Ananthu (29), a resident of Panayampadam, Kerala.
According to sources, they tried to sell the ganja in the City for Rs 30,000 – Rs. 50,000 per kg after purchasing it for Rs. 8000 per kg from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier, the accused parked their Omni in a hilly area near Vishakhapatnam. After leaving the cash in their car to buy marijuana, they called the local dealers.
The local sellers would arrive, take the money, and fill the car with drugs. Local dealers do not get in touch with the accused once the deal is done.
The accused would go back to where they had parked their car the next day and drive to Bengaluru to sell the ganja.
Police in Banaswadi were informed that the Omni was parked near HBR Layout. When police arrived, they arrested the accused.
