Bengaluru Urban has emerged as the top district in Karnataka for NEET scores, with the highest number of students securing marks between 600-720. Of the 4,302 students statewide in this range, 1,457 are from Bengaluru Urban. The National Testing Agency’s recent release of centre-wise NEET results highlighted this achievement.
Following Bengaluru Urban, Mangaluru has 621 students in this high-scoring bracket, while Bidar (309), Davanagere (266), and Kalaburagi (215) also show strong performances. Udupi, Belagavi, Mysuru, and Hubballi have notable numbers of high scorers as well.
Raghavendra Hegde, founder of RH MedTech Mentor, which provides NEET and CET counselling, analyzed the data. He noted that the distribution of scores aligns with the expected performance of educational hubs like Bengaluru and Mangaluru. Hegde pointed out that the large number of exam centers in Bengaluru Urban contributes to its high number of top scorers.
Seshadripuram First Grade College in Yelahanka leads within Bengaluru Urban, with 102 students scoring between 600-720. Other notable centers include Royal International Public School in Nelamangala and Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy on Sarjapur Road.
Statewide, 134 students scored above 700 marks, with Bengaluru Urban contributing 74 of these high scorers. Mangaluru follows with 17 students, and other districts like Davanagere, Belagavi, Mysuru, and Bidar also have significant numbers.
The increasing number of high scorers is expected to raise the cut-off marks for NEET admissions this year, making competition even more intense. Ali Khwaja, a career counsellor, attributes Bengaluru’s performance to its size and educational infrastructure, while Mangaluru’s reputation as an education hub continues to attract students from across the region.
