Bengaluru: A special team from the Ulsoor Gate Police Station on Sunday November 20 arrested K. Ravikumar, the Founder and Director of the NGO Chilume Trust, who is allegedly involved in the voters’ list scam.

Ravikumar is facing allegations of data theft by misusing the BBMP mandate to carry out Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities.

Soon after a FIR was filed in the case on Friday, he went missing and was detained on Lalbagh Road. The City Police had formed five teams to arrest the accused.

The software engineer who created the Digital Sameeksha app was earlier detained by Ulsoor Gate police. According to sources, the engineer, who posted a video on social media explaining how to change your information on voter ID lists, is being questioned by technical analysis experts. The application allows to share feedbacks regarding each constituency’s MLA.

Congress and JD (S) are alleging that BJP used the NGO to delete the names of the voters who are against the ruling party.
