Bengaluru: Woman killed after scooter falls into open drain

Bengaluru: A 23-year-old woman died and her friend suffered severe injuries after she lost control and rode her scooter into an open drain in Banaswadi on the night of Saturday September 10.

The deceased has been identified as Tara Badaiyak, hailing from Nepal, and the injured is Dilip Kumar.

According to sources, both used to live in HBR Layout and Tara, who had recently relocated to the city, was working as a cook in an apartment.

The incident happened on Sunday at 12.30 am while Tara and Kumar were riding her scooter to Hennur to meet their friends, informed police. Tara lost control and fell into the open drain. She sustained a severe head injury and was rushed to a private hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead.

A case has been registered in this regard.
