Bengaluru: Customs officials at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) arrested a woman after she allegedly tried to smuggle cocaine worth Rs. 7 Crore in her entrails.
According to officials, the 40-year-old lady who was arrested is from Sierra Leone. After consuming the capsules, the woman boarded a flight in Guinea and, on January 14, flew with Emirates to Bengaluru via Dubai.

She was reportedly detained after authorities saw some unusual behaviour, and female officers then had her undergo a body scan and radiology procedures. They then found 58 capsules containing cocaine particles in her abdominal region.

The woman confessed to carrying 686 gm of cocaine on a flight she had taken on January 13 out of Guinea’s Conakry Gbessia International Airport.

Later, all of the capsules were removed from the body by the police under medical supervision. Officials from Customs have not yet determined to who she was supposed to give the drugs and who delivered them to her.
