In a deeply troubling incident, three women in Bengaluru have shared a video recounting how they were stalked and chased by a group of men near Rameshwaram Cafe in JP Nagar, sparking fresh outrage over women’s safety in urban India.
The video, posted by user @suha_hana88 on Instagram, shows one of the women narrating their ordeal. “We were being followed early in the morning after visiting Rameshwaram Cafe. First on foot, then the men in a car blocked our way just as we boarded a Rapido bike taxi. They then began pursuing us in their vehicle. Even our auto driver seemed indifferent when we tried seeking help,” she said. The clip ends with the women managing to lose the suspects in traffic but clearly shaken and traumatised by the incident.
The caption read: “3 creepy men, 3 traumatised girls.”
The video quickly went viral, prompting a flurry of responses across social media. Many netizens expressed concern, offering safety advice and urging the women to report the incident to police.
One user advised: “Avoid going directly home when being followed. Detour to a police station if needed.” Another emphasized: “Try to note the vehicle registration number. It’s vital for filing a complaint.”
The disturbing episode has reignited demands for stronger protection measures for women and more responsive support systems in public spaces.
