Bengaluru: Youth tries to buy puppy online, loses Rs 28K

Bengaluru: A 17-year-old who sought to buy a puppy after seeing an advertisement on Facebook lost Rs. 28,000.

According to sources, the victim Aneesh was chatting with his friends on Facebook when he came across a puppy for sale advertisement. When he called the number listed in the advertisement, the owner told him that he would need to transfer Rs. 28,000 to buy the puppy.

Following this, Aneesh paid the amount. However, Aneesh felt suspicious when he later demanded more money and asked him to refund the money he had transferred.

Aneesh tried to reach the man again but found that he had turned off his mobile phone. He filed a complaint with the cyber police after realising he had been duped.
