Bengaluru: There has been speculation that Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy plans to divide Belagavi for better administration. This had evoked sharp criticism and now drawing curtains to it, the CM’s official sources called it a cunning plot by the opposition.

As the CM is all set to visit Belagavi district this Saturday, September 15, the rumours around Kumaraswamy’s plans to split Belagavi into Gokak and Chikkodi districts have been making rounds.

“CM Kumaraswamy started with dividing north and south Karnataka and when he didn’t succeed he now wants to divide districts. HDK has restored to playing with feelings of Kannadigas to save his CM seat. Hiding under the blanket of regional party HDK is becoming a threat to State,” tweeted state BJP.
