Bengaluru: BJP state unit approached the state Election Commission seeking rejection of the nomination papers of the Congress Chincholi candidate Subhash Rathod.
By-polls for the Chincholi assembly constituency will be held on May 19.
In a letter to the election commission, BJP state unit alleged that Rathod hid the information related to an FIR against him in the nomination papers. He also hid the voter id cards in four places.
The BJP delegation was led by MLC Ashwtha Narayana Gowda.
In Chincholi, BJP candidate Avinash Jadhav, son of Dr Umesh Jadhav will lock horns with Subhash Rathod of Congress. The JDS is supporting the Congress candidate here.
