Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader Prof. B. K. Chandrashekar said the call to fly the Tricolour at homes, offices, and the like is welcome and also very legitimate.
However, in a statement Chandrashekar pointed out that the same can’t be said of the means adopted by the Union and State Government to persuade people to do so as they have willingly done it always. It had never been used as a tool of power politics in name of patriotism, he noted.
Giving a target for the volume of sale also has displaced natural pride toward the flag common people have, he rued.
