Bengaluru: The new BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath inspected at least five infrastructure projects on Sunday May 8 and directed officials to expedite the work with minimal inconvenience to commuters.
Girinath first stopped at the Rs. 175 Crore integrated flyover being built in Yelahanka. The construction of the flyover, which is expected to offer signal-free passage across four junctions, has restricted the existing roadway and slowed traffic. Girinath requested that the contractor reduce the construction area where the piers will be built to allow for more traffic flow.
The BBMP Chief also visited MS Palya, where another flyover project is now being constructed. He stated that the project is still yet to receive State Government approval.
Girinath inspected the white-topping work on Sampige Road and then visited Sankey Road, which is being widened, while inspecting two projects in the Malleswaram Assembly constituency. Examining Jayamahal Road, Girinath requested that it be asphalted until the road’s widening issues are resolved.
Girinath also inspected the Koramangala-Bellandur waterway project, which has been stalled due to sewage inflow.
