B’luru police detain 19 Bangladeshis for overstaying visa

Bengaluru: Bengaluru South East police detained 19 Bangladeshi residents who were found to be overstaying in the city even after expiry of their visa.

THe Kotanuru police had conducted a special drive in Sampigehalli area following complaints that several foreigners, especially Bangladeshis staying in this area did not possess valid documents.

The 19 Bangladeshis, majority of who are students were found to be overstaying beyond their visa period at the time of the door to door inspection carried out by the police, informed South East DCP Girish.

Police informed that the passport and visa of all these people have been seized and issue has been brought to the notice of the senior officers.
