Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai allayed rumors that he is being considered as a replacement for B. S. Yediyurappa as the next chief minister.
Speaking to media persons on his return from New Delhi, he said that the speculation is nothing but a lie and there is no truth to it. “It is not even right to contemplate the move when we are facing Covid crisis, he stressed.
Requesting media persons not to read anything more to his visit to New Delhi, he said that it was not politically-motivated, but for Covid-related discussion. He remained firm that BJP central leadership was happy with the Yediyurappa administration. We just gave Union Home Minister Amit Shah complete details on the Covid-19 situation in the state, he added.
