Bengaluru: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught Excise Department Deputy Commissioner Nagashayana red-handed on Wednesday May 11 while accepting a bribe of Rs. 2.28 lakh from a person for the renewal of a bar licence.
Babu Reddy, a former ZP member and owner of the Durgada Siri hotel, claimed that the Excise Deputy Commissioner demanded a bribe of Rs 3.28 lakh in return for renewing the bar licence.
A team of ACB officials led by Davangere ACB DySP Manjunath set up a trap and arrested the accused red-handed while taking bribe money from the complainant.
According to sources, the accused was produced before the court and remanded to 15 days of judicial custody.
