Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa has requested CM Basavaraja Bommai to reconsider the decision of naming the Shivamogga airport after his name.
In a letter to CM, Yediyurappa has made this appeal.
He thanked the CM for his love, and affection towards him. “However, my name is not appropriate for naming of the airport,” he stated in his letter. He added, “I request you to name the airport after any leader who contributed to the cause of the country and the State.”
Also, he thanked all those who demanded naming the airport after his name. He also thanked the State Government for releasing the required funds for the development of the airport which likely to help the Shivamogga region.
