The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the Class 12 board examination results for 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 85.20 per cent.
Students who appeared for the examinations can now access their marksheets through the official CBSE results portal, DigiLocker, UMANG app, and SMS services.
Pass percentage sees decline this year
The overall pass percentage dropped from 88.39 per cent in 2025 to 85.20 per cent this year.
According to CBSE data, 17,80,365 students registered for the examination, while 17,68,968 appeared. Out of them, 15,07,109 students successfully cleared the exams.
The board also revealed that 94,028 students scored above 90 per cent, while 17,113 students secured more than 95 per cent marks.
Girls outperform boys again
Girls once again recorded better performance than boys in the examinations.
The pass percentage among girls stood at 88.86 per cent compared to 82.13 per cent among boys.
CBSE also noted that transgender candidates achieved a 100 per cent pass rate for the second consecutive year.
Bengaluru among top-performing regions
Among regional zones, Thiruvananthapuram emerged as the best-performing region with a pass percentage of 95.62 per cent.
Chennai secured the second position with 93.84 per cent, while Bengaluru ranked third with a pass percentage of 93.19 per cent.
South Indian regions dominated the overall performance rankings this year.

Students are required to enter details such as roll number, school number, admit card ID, and date of birth to download their marksheets.
