CET exams postponed to May 3,4

Bengaluru: Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has deferred the CET exams to May 3 and 4. Earlier, it was announced that it would be conducted on May 1 and 2.

It is reported that CET for Biology and Mathematics will be held on May 4, while that for Physics and Chemistry on May 5.

The Kannada test for both Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadigas students will be held on May 6 between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm.

CET administrative officer, Gangadharaiah, said the changes had to be made as the CBSE was conducting the AIPMT on May 1.

The CET exam attracts a number of Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga students coming from different parts of the country along with migrants from Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, the CET decided that a clash of date with AIPMT would be a big blow to the students and hence chose to defer the date.

“May is a crucial month. With a number of private colleges turning deemed varsities and conducting their own entrance tests, it was a headache for us to choose the date when there were no exams. Finally we managed to arrive at a consensus date,” said an official to a media daily.

However, some of the students are not happy with the new dates, it is said.
