Chikkaballapura: The Rural Police has arrested an inter-district fraudster who used to cheat people by withdrawing money from ATMs.
N. Sagar, a resident of HUDCO Colony in Bhadravathi Town of Shivamogga District was the person cheated. The accused has been identified as Narayana Murthy (29).
Acting on a tip-off from the public, a man who was moving around suspiciously near Canara Bank in Nayanahalli Village was taken into custody and interrogated.
The accused has also confessed to have cheated the public near ATMs under Gauribidanur City, Gubbi, Sira and Aijur Police Station limits in Tumakuru District, the police said.
Cases of fraudulent withdrawal of money using ATM cards by diverting the attention of the public near ATM centres in Kunigal police station limits are being heard in various courts.
