Chitradurga: In a tragic incident a boy accidentally hanged himself to death while rehearsing a hanging scene of Freedom Fighter Bhagat Singh on Sunday October 30. It is said that the boy rehearsing for the play of Bhagat Singh on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava to be held at school on November 1 next.
The boy has been identified as Sanjay Gowda (12), studying in 7th Standard in S. L. V School and was preparing to act in the role of Bhagat Singh on Sunday. It is said that the parents of the boy went outside when the boy was rehearsing alone in a room. The boy took a rope and tied it to the fan covered his head in a woollen cap, and fastened a noose around his neck. He jumped from the cot and died within minutes.
The parents came home and found the boy’s body hanging from the fan. They immediately took him to the Hospital. He succumbed on the way.
Chitradurga Extension Police has registered a case and is investigating.
