The Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru, a top research facility of DRDO, designed and developed the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). A small turbofan engine powers it. The aircraft’s airframe, undercarriage, and entire flight control and avionics systems were all indigenously developed, stated the press release.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised DRDO for its accomplishment. “It is a major achievement towards autonomous aircraft and would pave the way for Atma Nirbhar Bharat in terms of critical military systems,” he tweeted.
