Chitradurga: MLA M. Chandrappa has managed to create a new history in the town by consecrating a 19-feet-high monolithic idol of Lord Shiva at Shivanakere in the heart of the Town on Friday December 9.
At Honnakere in the legendary backdrop, Lord Shiva was placed in the middle of the lake for the welfare of the world and a mass prayer was offered for the welfare of the State.
MLA M. Chandrappa, who inaugurated the consecration of lord Shiva by worshipping the idol of Lord Shiva, said that a crane has been brought from Chennai to make Lord Shiva, who is revered by everyone, sit in the middle of Shivanakere. The sculptor who carved this idol has placed the Ganga on Lord Shiva’s hair which is very impressive.
