Chitradurga: A case of rape has been registered against Challakere Police Station CPI G. B. Umesh.

The woman has lodged a complaint against Challakere Police Station’s CPI G. B. Umesh, son of her uncle, for allegedly raping her on the pretext of helping her.

Umesh is complaint’s uncle son. Umesh was an inspector at Davanagere Police Station five years ago when the girl sought Umesh’s help on the issue of the site allotment. In her complaint, the woman said that she was asked to come whenever he called her, after which he came to Shivamogga again and raped her.

The woman was allegedly raped while she was studying for her BEd in Shivamogga, thus forcing her to abort her five times.

In her complaint, the woman mentioned that Umesh already had two wives and he urged her to be the third.

He even threatened to kill her if she didn’t listen to him and threatened to not help her in getting the site as well as bring her parents to the streets.

A case has been registered against Umesh under sections 376 Sections (2) (k) (n), 323, 504, 506 IPC.
