Chitradurga: Police have filed a partial chargesheet against Dr. Shivamurthy Murugha Shanaru, the seer of the Murugha Mutt, Rashmi, the warden of the hostel and Paramashivaiah, the former Secretary of the SJM educational institutions in a POCSO case based on the allegations made by two minor girls staying in the mutt’s hostel.
Speaking to the mediapersons, SP K. Parashuram said on Monday November 7 that the investigation into the third accused, who is a minor and the fifth accused, an advocate named Gangadharaiah, is still underway. After the investigation is done, a full chargesheet will be filed, he said.
However, the SP declined to address the issue of minors being given drugged fruits and holy water, claiming that the FSL was looking into it. He said that some reports had been provided by the FSL authorities, and more reports are awaited.
The SP denied the claims against the seer of rape and the murder of a child, whose body was found on railway tracks in Hindupura, Andhra Pradesh, and the case has been closed. If there are more victims, they may come forward, Parashuram said.
