Bengaluru: Bike, car and other motor vehicle race are not new for the city residents. However, the city is going to witness a thrilling new kind of race with country’s first ever Drone race, which will be held at the Palace Grounds on November 29.
As many as 30 drone teams from across the country are participating in this competition. Interestingly, the main organiser of this event is the state government.
According to IT minister KJ George, the central government permitted the use of Drone for commercial purposes from December 1. This race is organized to celebrate this event.
A total of 30 Drones, which are weighing 250 grams each are participating in this race. They will fly at a speed of 80 to 120 Kilometer per hour.
“For the first time in the country, such a race is being organised in an open space. The Drone developers can showcase their product at the venue,” he informed.
