Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched the distribution of ragi malt to 55 lakh students of government and aided schools as part of the midday meal program. The initiative, known as the Sai Sure Ragi Health Mix distribution program, aims to provide nutritious millet malt to enhance the mental and physical health of school children.
During the inauguration, the CM emphasized the importance of good nutrition for better education outcomes. He highlighted the significance of addressing nutritional deficiencies to ensure children’s mental strength and academic performance. Siddaramaiah stressed the need for all children, regardless of socio-economic background, to receive quality education.
The CM also noted the government’s efforts in enhancing milk production and introduced schemes like Ksheerabhagya to provide milk to schoolchildren regularly. Additionally, he mentioned the recent initiative to provide eggs to schoolchildren twice a week, emphasizing the government’s commitment to improving nutrition among students.
The event was attended by Food Minister KH Muniyappa, Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa, and other officials.
