Bengaluru : The MUDA site sharing scam has taken a dramatic turn, leaving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s fate hanging in the balance. With the Governor granting permission for prosecution and the High Court set to hear the case again on Thursday, the Congress party is gearing up for an intense battle.
The scam, which involves allegations of irregularities in the allotment of compensatory land to Siddaramaiah’s wife, has sparked a political firestorm. The Governor’s nod for prosecution has added fuel to the fire, prompting the Congress to launch a scathing attack on the Governor.
In a surprise move, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has called for a “Raj Bhavan Chalo” protest on August 31, where Congress MLAs, Ministers, Parishad members, and MPs will march from the Mahatma Gandhi statue near Vidhana Soudha to the Governor’s residence. Shivakumar has also taken a dig at Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, who alleged that his signature was forged in connection with the scam.
As the High Court prepares to hear the case again, the Congress high command has thrown its weight behind Siddaramaiah. The party has declared war on the Governor, accusing him of political vendetta.
