Bengaluru: Close friend of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Mysuru Corporator Nagabhushan’s daughter ended life at HSR Layout here on Friday evening. She has left behind a four-page death note eloquently expressing the torture that she was being subjected to by her mother in-law who forced her to bring more dowry from her father.
The deceased, Vanitha was married off only six months ago to a Tamil Nadu based techie Vasanth Kumar. She was living in her husband’s house in Bengaluru were she was found dead by hanging to the ceiling.
It is said that Vanitha and Vasanth were very much in love, but his mother was torturing Vanitha to the extent that she was even denied food. Vanitha has spoken about all the ordeal in the death note.
The dead body has been forwarded to St John’s hospital. Police have taken Vasanth and his mother into custody.
