Bengaluru: All India Congress Committee (AICC) has directed the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dr. G Parameshwar to carryout the Janashirvada Yatra together.
According to the sources, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wants to carry out a month-long yatra from December 15 and visit all the 224 assembly constituencies. But KPCC president Dr. G Parameshwar is planning a different yatra during the same time. Sensing that the two separate programmes may affect the party at large, the Congress high command has directed both the leaders to carry out the yatra together.
According to the communication sent to both the leaders, the party high command has observed that if leaders take out different yatra, it may send a wrong signal to the people of the state and party activists. “So both the leaders are directed to carry out the yatra together,” said a leader.
One may have to wait and watch if the two top leaders of the state would work out an amicable plan for the same.
