Congress high command seeks report on Sait, might be forced to resign

Bengaluru: Due to relentless agitations by the opposition and other organisations after the television report of education minister Tanveer Sait watching nude clips in his mobile appeared, the Congress high command has sought a formal report from the State congress. In the mean time, it is reported that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah got irked after Sait justified his actions. Due to these developments, the education minister might be asked to quit preventing further embarrassment to the government during the forthcoming winter session.
KRV protests against Sait over alleged porn viewing  -1Television reports emerged soon after Sait was seen watching nude clips on his mobile in Raichur during the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations. The main opposition parties are seeking his immediate resignation. Even certain organistations lent their support to the agitating opposition parties. In the event of these developments, the Congress high command sought a report from the state Congress committee.

In the mean time it is gathered, the Chief Minister has asked Sait to be prepared to resign if the Congress high command directs him to do so. Sait’s justification in the media to prove his innocence too has irked the CM.

This apart, the winter session will begin on November21 where the opposition parties will definitely corner the government over this issue. When the Congress was in opposition, the present CM and the then opposition leader had demanded the resignation of BJP legislators Krishna Palemar, CC Patil and Lakshman Savadi on the same issue. To prevent further embarrassment to the government, the education minister may be asked to reign.

The State Congress chief is likely to submit the report in a day or two after collecting all the details. He has already spoken to minister Sait and the chief minister over the issue. Once the Congress high command responds to the state committee report, Sait may be shown the door in the next 2-3 days.
