Bengaluru: A woman in Bengaluru dialed a fake Flipkart customer service number she found on Google and lost Rs. 34,057 to fraudsters.

The woman, Anusuya from Sampigehalli, detailed her ordeal in a complaint to the CEN Police Station (North East division). Since the item had not arrived, she used Google to look up the Flipkart customer service number and called to ask about the order’s status.

The guy who answered the phone told her that the problem will be resolved and advised her to download the Anydesk application, which allows people to control electronic devices. He also received the woman’s OTP on her phone.

The woman later found that Rs. 34,057 had been taken from her bank account.

CEN police informed that the investigation to trace the culprits is underway.
