Bengaluru: It was 1983, that eight men stole away 25 bags of paddy from the paddy field located in on the city outskirts. These paddy bags were belonging to one local farmer by name Mutalik Desai. While seven accused were arrested by the cops immediately, one accused gave the cops a slip.
However, 36-years after the theft, the one accused was finally arrested by the Dharwad rural police.
According to the police, the arrested is identified as Shankrappa Mahadevappa Jodgeri, 54, a resident of Ettinagudda village in the Dharawad taluk.
It is said that after this incident, the accused moved to neighboring states and stayed in multiple places like Goa, Mumbai, Hyderabad, etc. “He was arrested when he recently had been to his native place,” explained the police.
