Diljit Dosanjh’s Bengaluru Concert Marred by Language Dispute

Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati concert in Bengaluru on December 6 sparked a social media debate over a language dispute involving concertgoer Tanisha Sabherwal. She shared her distressing experience on platform X, highlighting how a Kannada language demand escalated into an altercation.

Sabherwal recounted that during the crowded event, a woman accidentally pushed her. When Sabherwal politely requested more space, the woman allegedly responded with abusive language and demanded she speak in Kannada. The situation worsened when Sabherwal’s friend intervened. The woman reportedly twisted the friend’s arm and called the police.

However, Sabherwal had recorded the incident and presented the evidence to authorities. Despite this, the woman allegedly began crying, feigned collapsing, and demanded the video’s deletion. Sabherwal accused the woman of using “fake feminism” to manipulate the situation.

Sharing her frustration online, Sabherwal wrote, “I never thought I’d say this, but Bangalore will collapse soon because of this language issue… It’s saddening to see this happening in your own country.” Her post sparked a heated debate, with some criticizing the woman’s behavior and others discussing the broader issue of linguistic pride.

One user commented, “Irony that all this drama happened at a concert not in Kannada.” Another added, “Post it online—if she gets away with this, it might become a pattern.”

The incident has reignited discussions about language, identity, and inclusivity in a diverse nation.
