Mangaluru: Heavy rains lashed the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi, disrupting normal life in the region. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall and strong winds in the region on June 23 and 24.
Between June 14 and June 20, the Dakshina Kannada District gets an average of 539.5 mm of rain. The district has received 221.8 mm of rain this year, which is around 59 per cent less than the average rainfall for the same period.
DK had 717 mm rainfall between January and June 20 this year, compared to 782 mm last year, which is 8 per cent less during the same period, according to sources.
