Bengaluru: A violent mob attack at a private company premises in Doddaballapura taluk has left multiple persons injured and property damaged, prompting police to arrest 12 accused and launch a manhunt for others involved in the incident.
Incident begins near village
According to the police complaint, the incident began on July 26, 2026, at around 6:00 PM near Doddatumkur village, within the jurisdiction of the Doddaballapura Rural Police Station. Anupam Kumar and his friend Jyoti Chauhan were reportedly sitting in the area when a group of three to four unidentified persons approached them and created a disturbance involving Jyoti Chauhan.
Following the altercation, Anupam Kumar and Jyoti Chauhan left the spot in their car and proceeded towards the premises of Minimines Cleantech Solution Private Limited. However, the individuals involved in the earlier confrontation allegedly followed them to the location.
Mob gathers at company premises
On receiving information about the situation, complainant Arvind Bharadwaj arrived at the company premises. By that time, the situation had escalated significantly, with around 30 to 40 persons assembling at the site.
The mob allegedly turned violent, targeting both individuals and property. The attackers reportedly broke the window glass of Anupam Kumar’s car, which was parked in front of the factory, and then forcibly entered the company premises.
Assault leaves multiple injured
The complaint states that the group assaulted Arvind Bharadwaj using weapons such as a long stick, a mace, a stick and a knife. He sustained bleeding injuries to the back of his head, right fist and right leg.
Anupam Kumar was also attacked with a knife, resulting in bleeding injuries to his head and the right side of his body. He additionally suffered abrasions on his body and hands. Several other staff members present at the factory reportedly sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Property damage and threats reported
Apart from the physical assault, the mob is accused of causing significant damage to property. The CCTV camera and monitor installed at the company premises were reportedly vandalised. The attackers also damaged the car by breaking its window glass.
The complainant further alleged that he, along with his family members, was threatened with dire consequences during the attack, raising concerns about the severity and intent of the incident.
Police action and arrests
Based on the complaint lodged by Arvind Bharadwaj, a case has been registered at the Doddaballapura Rural Police Station. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are working to identify and apprehend all those involved.
So far, 12 accused persons have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Authorities have formed three special teams to trace and arrest the remaining accused individuals who are currently absconding.
Investigation underway
Police officials stated that efforts are ongoing to analyse available evidence, including witness statements and any recoverable digital footage, to establish the sequence of events and identify all perpetrators. The motive behind the attack is also being examined as part of the investigation.
