Bengaluru: Soon, every hobli in the state will have a Karnataka Public School with all the modern facilities. These schools will have classes starting from pre-nursery to II PUC.
Announcing the decision, state primary and secondary education minister Tanveer Sait informed that currently 75 such schools are operating in 75 educationally backward hoblis of the state. The education department is considering the proposal of setting up of 760 similar schools in other areas.
“PWD, Education, and Panchayat Raj departments have already submitted the land details where all these schools could be set up. Money has been reserved in this year itself for setting up of these schools,” he said.
He also stated that there is no question of scrapping the 25 per cent quota for students from disadvantaged groups in private schools through the Right to Education (RTE) quota.
